Seckford Education Trust

Trust Leadership Group Assistant – Part time, 1300 annualised hours

We are seeking an experienced and capable Assistant to provide comprehensive secretarial, administrative and logistical support to the Trust Leadership Group.

This is a new post, and presents a great opportunity to play a key role within the Trust. The post-holder will ensure a responsive administrative, secretarial, organisational and logistical service is in place to support the priorities and duties of the Leadership Group, and to support the smooth management of the Trust office and its services.

You should have proven experience of providing secretarial or high-level administrative support, although not necessarily within an education environment. You should be able to demonstrate excellent secretarial and communication skills, and an ability to show absolute discretion.

This role will be mainly term-time only; however it will involve various commitments during the school holidays. It is based in Woodbridge, although some travel will be required between Woodbridge and the Free Schools.

Beccles Free School

MFL Teacher (Specialising in French) – Part Time (0.8 FTE) To Start: January 2019

We are seeking a talented, part-time (4 days per week) Teacher of MFL (specialising in French) to join our Language Department. Whether you are an NQT or an outstanding teacher looking for a new challenge, you will play an active role in the School’s development as we continue to grow year on year, working in an environment where you will really make a difference. MFL is taught from year 7 through to GCSE. You must be committed to raising the standard of our students by creative and engaging teaching.

A cross-trust Lead Practitioner role may be available for the right candidate.

Teaching Assistant – Full time, term-time only

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our committed team of support staff. You  will help drive attainment and contribute towards building a positive and creative learning environment. You  will be working with small groups of students and individuals who may have learning, behavioural,  physical or emotional difficulties.

The successful candidate will:

  •  Have an understanding of the SEN Code of Practice, and inclusive practice within a school
    setting;
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the variety of barriers to learning that students face;
  • Preferably have experience in a secondary school with excellent numeracy and literacy skills;
  •  Be able to establish positive and respectful relationships with students;
  • Be an effective team player with high standards of integrity and approachability.

Ixworth Free School

Chef – Full time, term time only

Ixworth Free School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Chef to join our busy Catering Team. You will need to have a culinary background, and be motivated to provide the best possible, quality fresh food, prepared from scratch to students.

Here at Ixworth Free School we believe that healthy eating plays a vital role in the successful education of our students. We have therefore invested in a high quality catering service that offers healthy, good value meals. We are absolutely committed to promoting an environment which encourages healthy lifestyle choices.

You will be required to work 35 hours per week in total, 37 weeks per year, typically between 8:00am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Teaching Assistant – Pastoral

We would like to appoint a Teaching Assistant with a particular interest in pastoral or mental health support, to join our committed team of existing support staff. You will help drive attainment and contribute towards building a positive and creative learning environment. You will be working with small groups of students and individuals who may have learning, emotional, physical or emotional difficulties.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an understanding of the SEN Code of Practice, and inclusive practice within a school setting;
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the variety of barriers to learning that students face;
  • Preferably have experience in a secondary school with excellent numeracy and literacy skills;
  • Be able to establish positive and respectful relationships with students

Saxmundham Free School

Science Technician – Part Time (22 hours per week, term time only)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible Science Technician (who has a keen interest in the subject) to provide technical support and assistance to students and staff within our Science Department. Experience of working in such an environment, and a qualification in Science is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work within current specific Health and Safety standards, with an awareness of COSHH regulations;
  • Work directly with the Science teaching staff to prepare, maintain and order resources and provide technical assistance and advice to teachers and students as required;
  • Carry out maintenance, audits and stock-taking of apparatus and equipment;
  • Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and waste;
  • Be able to carry out risk assessments for laboratory work;
  • Provide administrative assistance to the department teaching staff.

You will be educated to at least GCSE with Maths and English at C or above and ideally have an A Level or equivalent Science qualification. You will be an effective team player but able to work well independently too.
